Seahawks waive Super Bowl hero Chris Matthews
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Chris Matthews has been waived by the team.
After his spectacular four-catch, 109-yard, one-touchdown performance in February's Super Bowl, Matthews was only able to manage four catches in Seattle's first nine games this season, in which he was active for all nine. Undrafted and with only four regular-season catches on his resumè, Matthews may be done in the NFL.
In nine games with the Seahawks this season, Matthews finished with a total of four catches on nine targets for 54 yards and no scores.
