Alfred Morris expected to start for San Francisco in Week 1
San Francisco 49ers running back Alfred Morris is expected to be the starter in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Morris gets the bump in the depth chart following the season-ending knee injury to Jerick McKinnon. Morris has experience in head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense and played well this preseason -- 89 yards on 19 carries. Matt Breida will serve as the change of pace/passing down back to start the year after being cleared to practice following a shoulder injury.
Before the McKinnon injury, our models projected Morris for 99 carries, 420.0 yards, and 3.6 touchdowns in 2018.
