Caleb Sturgis wins Chargers' kicking competition
Los Angeles Chargers kicker Caleb Sturgis has won the kicking competition with Roberto Aguayo and will be the team's placekicker to start the 2018 season.
The Chargers cut Aguayo on Saturday, leaving Sturgis as the lone kicker on the Chargers' roster. Sturgis played in 1 game for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017, before getting injured, making 3 field goals and going 1-for-2 on extra points.
Our models project Sturgis to make 26.5 of 30.0 field goal attempts while connecting on 44.4 extra points in 2018.
