Cleveland Browns linebacker Mychal Kendricks has been charged with insider trading, United States Attorney Bill McSwain announced.
Kendricks admitted to investing money with a former friend earlier this decade and vowed to repay the illegal funds. The 27-year-old linebacker, who signed a one-year deal with the Browns in June, expressed sincere remorse for his actions. This is an unprecedented legal matter for a player and it's not clear if the NFL will issue any discipline of their own.
Operating under the assumption he plays all 16 games, numberFire's models project Kendricks to record 88.8 tackles, 1.4 sacks, 4.7 pass deflections, 1.5 interceptions, 1.2 forced fumbles, 1.0 recovered fumbles, and 0.16 touchdowns.
