Leonard Fournette to see more third-down work for Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette will be more involved on third downs this year, head coach Doug Marrone said.
“He seems to be doing a good job," Marrone said. "It’s a little bit different on third down, schematically what we do. He’s just getting himself comfortable with that.” Fournette occasionally yielded third-down work to Corey Grant and T.J. Yeldon as a rookie, but he still finished with 36 catches for 302 yards and a touchdown on 48 targets in 13 games. Per Fantasy Football Calculator, Fournette's current average draft position is the 8th pick in the first round.
numberFire's models project Fournette for 1,195.2 rushing yards and 11.07 touchdowns on 277.4 attempts this season, adding another 37 catches for 295.9 receiving yards and 0.82 receiving touchdowns on 37.0 catches. He's the 8th-best running back in our preseason fantasy rankings.
