Panthers' Cam Newton could see extended run in Friday's preseason game

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton could play the entire first half in Friday's preseason game against the Miami Dolphins.

What It Means:

Newton could use additional playing time as he adjusts to new offensive coordinator Norv Turner's playbook. He saw limited snaps in the preseason opener -- missing on both his pass attempts -- but could play as much as a whole half on Friday, depending on how well the first-team offense plays.

Our models project Newton for 3,314.1 passing yards, 21.7 touchdowns, and 12.1 interceptions while rushing for 742.1 yards and 5.5 touchdowns. He is numberFire's sixth-ranked QB in fantasy this year.
