Derek Carr making strides in Raiders' new system
Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is "in real command of Jon Gruden's offense," says Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review Journal.
What It Means:
Carr is "vocal before snap" and "directing traffic to degree he hasn't in past" at the line of scrimmage, Gehlken tweeted, adding that the quarterback's "fluency level exceeds their time together," in regards to working with Gruden. After a breakout 2016 campaign, Carr struggled last season while batting a back injury.
Carr is currently the 21st quarterback in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our metrics expect him to throw for 3,872.7 yards with 26.79 touchdowns and 15.1 interceptions during his first year under Gruden.
