The New England Patriots waived wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell.
What It Means:
Mitchell caught 6 passes for 70 yards in the Patriots' Super Bowl LI victory to cap off an encouraging rookie season but knee issues have kept him out since. The 2016 fourth-round pick turned 25 in July.
Mitchell caught 32 passes (48 targets) for 401 yards and 4 touchdowns in 14 games as a rookie.
