Odell Beckham, Giants reportedly making progress in negotiations
The New York Giants and contract-year wide receiver Odell Beckham are making progress in extension talks, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Rapoport says the two sides are engaged in "good-faith negotiations on a deal that would make Beckham the highest paid receiver in the NFL." That contradicts a Monday morning report from ESPN's Josina Anderson, who said the Giants are "currently valuing" Beckham at less than the $16 million per season Sammy Watkins received from the Kansas City Chiefs. It remains to be seen how this plays out, but regardless, Beckham is healthy and ready for Week 1.
Beckham is neck and neck with DeAndre Hopkins for the WR3 spot in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models currently project him to catch 99.0 passes (166.5 targets) for 1,351.1 yards and 9.16 touchdowns this season.
