Jets' Elijah McGuire (foot) likely to open season on IR
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports New York Jets running back Elijah McGuire (foot) could open the season on injured reserve.
McGuire suffered a fractured foot, which required surgery. He is out indefinitely and is expected to miss at least the first eight weeks of the season. Bilal Powell, who was a cut candidate, benefits the most as he has all but secured his role as third-down/passing down back for New York. Isaiah Crowell remains the lead runner for the Jets.
Our models project McGuire for only 227.9 total yards and 0.8 touchdowns on 47.5 touches if he plays at all this season.
