This clashes with Jourdan Rodrigue of the Charlotte Observer, who predicted last week that McCaffrey's carry total "won't go up by much" from the 117 he saw as a rookie. Enter Rivera, who says he would not be surprised if McCaffrey hits the 200-mark. ESPN's David Newton says the coaching staff is high on the rising sophomore's ability "between the tackles." McCaffrey has also added some weight to improve his effectiveness as an inside runner.

numberFire's models expect McCaffrey to see an uptick in rushing volume, although not quite as high as Rivera mentioned, as we have him pegged for 150.3 carries for 660.3 rushing yards and 3.98 touchdowns, with another 79.3 catches for 771.3 receiving yards and 4.74 scores. He's the RB14 in our preseason fantasy rankings.
