Patriots' Malcolm Mitchell undergoes knee surgery
New England Patriots wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell underwent knee surgery on Monday.
What It Means:
Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal reports that it is no guarantee that Mitchell will be able to play at all in 2018. The 26-year-old missed the entirety of the 2017 season with a knee injury, making this surgery especially concerning.
numberFire's models projected Mitchell to see only 21.9 targets this season, so his absence will not have much of an impact on our projections for the Patriots' offense.
