Mitchell Trubisky 'inconsistent' to start Bears training camp

Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky's early-camp performance could "best be described as inconsistent," writes Rich Campbell for the Chicago Tribune.

What It Means:

According to Campbell, Trubisky is "riding the roller coaster on a play-to-play basis," which is to be expected from a second-year quarterback with limited starting experience who is learning an entirely new offense under head coach Matt Nagy and offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich. The Bears opened camp early because they face the Baltimore Ravens in the Hall of Fame Game on August 2.

numberFire's models project Trubisky to throw for 3,434.4 yards with 20.59 touchdowns and 13.4 interceptions while adding 297.7 yards and 1.77 touchdowns on the ground. He's the QB25 in our preseason fantasy rankings.
