Steelers give up on 2014 third-rounder Dri Archer
The Pittsburgh Steelers waived running back Dri Archer.
It's an admission of defeat on Archer, whom the Steelers made the No. 97 overall pick of last year's draft after he posted the combine's fastest 40-yard dash time (4.26).
Despite the sprinter's speed, Archer couldn't find a position on offense and failed to make an impact on special teams. He had not registered a touch on offense this season. Archer's wheels will likely get him a look elsewhere.
