Buccaneers' Jameis Winston officially suspended for three games
The NFL suspended Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston three games for violating the league's personal-conduct policy.
Winston will not appeal after reaching a negotiated settlement with the league. In a statement, Winston essentially admitted he committed the act he has continually denied, sexually assaulting an Uber driver in March 2016. "It is uncharacteristic of me and I genuinely apologize," Winston claimed. He went on to say he has "eliminated alcohol" from his life. Winston is eligible to return for Week 4's visit to the Chicago Bears, but veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick will be relied on to face three of the Bucs' toughest matchups this season.
With this news, our models project Winston for 3,421 passing yards, 21.5 touchdowns, and 12.6 interceptions on 467 attempts this year. He should add 131 rushing yards and 1.4 touchdowns on 28 rushes.
