Arizona Cardinals defensive back Patrick Peterson said he is taking on an assortment of new responsibilities under new head coach Steve Wilks.
Peterson has primarily shadowed opposing team's number-one receivers all over the field, but his new role calls for playing off the ball and blitzing more often while not pressing as much. Turning 28 next month, Peterson is excited for a role that will allow him to better utilize his play-making abilities. "I’m looking to start jumping routes now. I’m looking to be a little bit more aggressive off the ball, and be the same as I am when I’m in the receiver’s face."
Peterson recorded 34 tackles (30 solo) and picked off 1 pass while deflecting 8 more for the Cardinals in 2017.
