Packers' Sam Shields exits Sunday night game with shoulder injury

Green Bay Packers cornerback Sam Shields left Sunday night's Week 8 game with a shoulder injury.

What It Means:

Shields is dealing with an AC joint issue, the same injury that wide receiver Randall Cobb sustained in the preseason. His return is questionable. Rookie defensive back Damarious Randall replaced Shields on the outside, with safety Micah Hyde playing in the slot. Rookie cornerback Quinten Rollins has also gone to the locker room with an undisclosed injury.

The Packers have allowed Denver Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning to rack up an 11.65 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) at the time of Shields' exit. The Packers' defense ranked ninth in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP through Week 7.
