Colts’ fifth-round pick Jordan Wilkins working with first team

Indianapolis Colts fifth-round running back Jordan Wilkins worked with the first-team offense at minicamp on Tuesday.

What It Means:

A couple of the Colts beat writers noted that Wilkins caught a "deeper wheel route" from Andrew Luck, so the Ole Miss product could potentially be in the mix for the lead gig out of the backfield. Robert Turbin has seen most of the first-team reps this offseason while Marlon Mack recovers from shoulder surgery. It wouldn't be surprising to see Wilkins' role grow as the season progresses.

numberFire's models currently project Wilkins to total 101.9 yards on the ground and 116.8 through the air while scoring 1.26 touchdowns in a limited role for the Colts during his rookie season.
