Jay Ajayi could be Eagles' workhorse back in 2018
Philadelphia Eagles assistant head coach/RBs coach Duce Staley suggested running back Jay Ajayi will be the workhorse this season.
The Eagles had a committee of running backs in 2018 after Ajayi was acquired from the Dolphins. However, LeGarrette Blount is now in Detroit and Darren Sproles is coming off injury, so Ajayi could definitely see more carries this season. Corey Clement is still in the fold as well, but Ajayi looks like the clear-cut number one ground option heading into training camp for the defending Super Bowl champs.
Our early models for the 2018 season have Ajayi rushing for 953.4 yards on 231.5 carries and 6.2 rushing touchdowns, to go with 176.6 receiving yards on 24.8 catches and another 0.4 touchdowns through the air.
