Chargers back Melvin Gordon could catch more passes in 2018
Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt suggested running back Melvin Gordon could play a more significant part in the passing game in 2018.
Gordon caught 58 passes on 83 targets last season but with the loss of tight end Hunter Henry to an ACL injury, there are more targets available for the running back and fellow back Austin Ekeler. Whisenhunt likes the flexibility he has in the backfield and will be looking to add routes to Gordon's package of plays.
Our models project Gordon for 1,709.0 total yards and 10.7 touchdowns on 350.9 touches (57.0 receptions) this season.
