Buccaneers could be interested in Adrian Peterson
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have interest in free agent running back Adrian Peterson, Florida Football Insiders reports.
The Bucs were linked to Peterson last offseason before he signed with the New Orleans Saints. He looked fairly washed last year, averaging 3.4 yards per attempt with just two touchdowns on 159 rushes. Tampa has a talented but unproven depth chart, with second-round rookie Ronald Jones and former undrafted free agent Peyton Barber heading it.
Among the 47 running backs to top 100 rushing attempts in 2017, Peterson's -0.19 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per attempt was the worst such rate.
