Bills' head coach Rex Ryan 'confident' Tyrod Taylor back after bye
Buffalo Bills' head coach Rex Ryan said he is "confident" that quarterback Tyrod Taylor (knee) will return following the team's Week 8 bye.
Fill-in E.J. Manuel turned the ball over three times in Week 7's spot-start and had another interception in Week 6. Ryan also said he is "100 percent" confident in Manuel as his backup quarterback, which seems unlikely. That said, Ryan is probably much more comfortable with Manuel in a relief role rather than the starting gig. Buffalo needs Taylor back as quickly as possible.
Coming into Week 7, Manuel's 0.16 Total Net Expected Points (NEP) per-play ranked 13th among quarterbacks with 50 or more opportunities on the year. Taylor's Total NEP per-play (0.23) ranks ninth among the same players.
