New England Patriots use the 31st pick on RB Sony Michel
The New England Patriots have selected Georgia Bulldogs running back Sony Michel with the 31st overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Despite concerns about Michel's injury history, the Pats added the standout back to their stable of runners, using their second first-round pick. He joins Rex Burkhead, James White, Jeremy Hill, Mike Gillislee, and Brandon Bolden in a crowded New England backfield. We would expect New England to move on from either Gillislee or Hill with the addition of Michel.
In four seasons with Georgia, Michel racked up 4,234 yards from scrimmage (3,613 rushing, 621 receiving) with 39 total touchdowns, including 17 in 2017.
