The New Orleans Saints traded the 2018 27th and the 147th overall pick in addition to a 2019 first-rounder to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for the 14th pick, which they used on UTSA defensive end Marcus Davenport.
The Saints were rumored to be targeting a quarterback but ended up paying a high price for the combine wonder Davenport. The 6'7" lineman is a freakish athlete but is extremely raw. Davenport finished the 2017 season with 8.5 sacks and 17.5 tackles for a loss in 11 games.
The Saints finished with the 14th-best overall defense in 2017, per out metrics, but struggled against the run allowing 4.4 yards per carry, the fifth-worst mark in the NFL.
