Report: Giants releasing Brandon Marshall

The New York Giants are releasing wide receiver Brandon Marshall, reports Kimberley A. Martin of the Washington Post.

What It Means:

General manager Dave Gettleman said that the team will release Marshall on a "failed physical" designation. The 34-year-old's status with the team has been in question since undergoing ankle surgery in October. The move saves the Giants more than $5 million toward the 2018 cap.

Last season, Marshall played in just 5 games, totaling 18 catches and 154 yards.
