Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed (concussion) did not practice Wednesday.
Head coach Jay Gruden said Reed is progressing, but he isn't expected to return this week and could miss multiple games. Reed has a history with head injuries, so the Redskins will -- and should -- be extremely cautious. Derek Carrier will continue to start in his place.
Reed was off to a nice start this season. He had been targeted 34 times this year prior to the injury, adding 21.39 Reception Net Expected Points.
