Julio Jones uncertain if he'll play Thursday for Falcons
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones (hamstring) admits he doesn't know if he'll be active for Thursday's game against the New Orleans Saints.
Head coach Dan Quinn said earlier Tuesday that he anticipated that Jones would play, but this clouds Jones' status a bit more. The star receiver was able to play through the injury in Week 6, but with the short turnaround, Jones could be in danger of sitting out a week.
If Jones can't go, that could lead to big things for wide receiver Leonard Hankerson and tight end Jacob Tamme. The Saints' defense sits 31st in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play. Tamme was targeted 10 times Sunday, and Hankerson had garnered 25 targets in Weeks 2 through 4 prior to dealing with a rib injury in Week 5. Whoever suits up for the Falcons in this contest will be a top fantasy option.
