Giants trade Jason Pierre-Paul to Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquired Jason Pierre-Paul and a fourth-round pick from the New York Giants in exchange for a third-round pick and a fourth-round pick, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
It's a surprising move for the Giants, but one that may indicate that they intend to draft defensive lineman Bradley Chubb with the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft. However, they will only save $2.5 million in cap space. For Tampa Bay, Pierre-Paul will bolster their pass rush, which was a weakness in 2017.
This past season, Pierre-Paul accumulated 8.0 sacks and 68 total tackles over 16 games for the Giants.
