Dolphins release Julius Thomas
The Miami Dolphins released tight end Julius Thomas.
The move saves the Dolphins $6.6 million against the cap. Going on 30 in June, Thomas has been hobbled by injuries over the past few years and is unlikely to draw much interest on the open market. A.J. Derby is currently TE1 for Miami, so look for them to add to the roster before the season starts.
Thomas averaged 5.5 FanDuel points across 14 games last season, with 41 catches (62 targets) for 388 yards and 3 touchdowns.
