Browns' Joe Thomas announces retirement after 11 NFL seasons
According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Cleveland Browns left tackle Joe Thomas has announced his retirement from football.
The Browns' pursuit of free agents like Nate Solder served as foreshadowing for today's decision. Befoe making his announcement, Thomas spoke highly of the team's future, however, they'll have to fill the void left by a Pro Bowl talent and veteran presence in the locker room. Thomas will give up his $3 million roster bonus.
Thomas will end his career with an NFL record 10,363 straight snaps played. He also became the only offensive lineman in history to make the Pro Bowl in each of his first 10 season.
