Giants sign veteran tackle Nate Solder for $62 million
The New York Giants are signing left tackle Nate Solder, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Solder hasn't been given recognition for his play, but he's been a reliable player in seven seasons with the New England Patriots. He's a big-time player and should help keep Eli Manning from being sacked 20-plus times for a sixth straight year. The deal is reportedly worth $62 million with $35 million guaranteed over four years.
Pro Football Focus rated Solder as their 32nd-best offensive tackle last season. For his career, he's started at least 13 games in all but one season.
