Pierre Thomas working out for Chiefs
Free agent running back Pierre Thomas will work out for the Kansas City Chiefs.
The team is also bringing in running back Ben Tate for a workout after starter Jamaal Charles was lost for the season Sunday with a torn ACL. The team is said to favor Charcandrick West over Knile Davis on their current roster.
Thomas was still effective in 2014 with the New Orleans Saints. On 45 rushing attempts, Thomas had 1.83 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) to go with 21.84 Reception NEP on his 55 targets. Tate finished with -14.46 Rushing NEP on 119 carries, so it's clear Thomas would be the superior option. West would still likely inherit a chunk of the rushing workload, but Thomas could help fill the void Charles leaves in the passing game.
