Sammy Watkins reportedly joins Chiefs for 3 years, $48 million

The Kansas City Chiefs signed wide receiver Sammy Watkins, formerly of the Los Angeles Rams, to a 3-year, $48 million contract, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

What It Means:

Per Rapoport, the deal includes $30 million guaranteed. With Watkins in tow, new starter Patrick Mahomes has another deep threat opposite Tyreek Hill for an already-prolific offense. The existence of Travis Kelce and Kareem Hunt may cut into Watkins' fantasy value, but it's a significant upgrade overall for the Chiefs.

Watkins averaged 8.1 FanDuel points across 15 games last season, with 39 catches (70 targets) for 593 yards and 8 touchdowns.
