Julius Thomas (hand) to make Jaguars debut
Julius Thomas (questionable, hand) will be active for the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Thomas won't be limited, according to Schefter, but other sources indicate he may see just 20-25 snaps. The Florida Times-Union reported Saturday he was "still probably a week away", so some skepticism should be exercised. Once Thomas is up to speed, he is likely to be a weekly TE1 despite the inconsistency of this offense. Marcedes Lewis will move into a blocking role.
Lewis ranked 35th out of 35 tight ends with 10 or more targets in Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) through four weeks in 2015. Thomas ranked 11th among all tight ends in Reception NEP in 2014.
