Jets releasing Muhammad Wilkerson
The New York Jets are releasing defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
After earning All-Pro honors in two out of three years, Wilkerson was rewarded with an $86 million extension. But, since then, he's been unreliable and a far cry from the dominant player he was. He was disciplined on multiple occasions, but he should be a target for teams based on his talent. The Jets save $11 million toward the cap by releasing Wilkerson.
In 2017, Wilkerson totaled just 26 tackles, 4 sacks and 4 passes defensed in 13 games.
