The Green Bay Packers have lost their grievance to recover the signing bonus of New England Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett.
The Packers contended that Bennett withheld a shoulder injury from them before signing with the team in March. It's likely that the league decided that the Pack's medical team should have found the injury during a routine examination. Bennett will retain the $6.2 million. The 30-year-old is a candidate to be waived by the Patriots with a $2 million roster bonus on his contract.
Over 9 games with the Packers and Patriots, Bennett caught 30 balls for 286 yards. He was held without a touchdown in his 7 starts.
