The Carolina Panthers are reportedly unlikely to use the franchise tag on free agent guard Andrew Norwell.
Despite some struggles up front, Carolina has a good chunk of their cap allocated to their offensive line. To keep Norwell, it would take about $14.3 million on the tag. Carolina will look to utilize that money to improve their offensive weapons around Cam Newton.
Norwell rated out as the 3rd-best guard in the NFL, per Pro Football Focus.
