Free agent Julius Peppers 'leaning toward' returning for 17th season
Free agent defensive end Julius Peppers is reportedly "leaning toward" returning for his 17th NFL season.
The Charlotte Observer's sources say that Peppers "doesn't want to commit to it yet." If he does return, it would only be with the Panthers, with whom he's spent 9 of his previous 16 seasons. Peppers, who turned 38 in January, is recovering from surgery to repair a torn right labrum.
Peppers appeared in all 16 games, tallying 21 tackles, 11 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in 2017.
