According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, the New York Jets view running back Bilal Powell as a 'complementary back.'
The team would prefer to keep him under 170 carries. With Matt Forte all but out the door, Elijah McGuire would be the only in-house option to split time with Powell. If they don't think McGuire's capable, they'll have to look elsewhere in the draft or free agency.
In 2017-18, Powell took 178 carries for 772 yards and 5 rushing scores. He added 23 catches and 170 yards through the air in 15 games.
