Odell Beckham looking forward to signing long-term deal with Giants
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham said he wants to sign a long-term contract soon so he can "get it over with."
"I really want to do it so I can move past it," said Beckham on Saturday. "I need to know where I can start buying furniture for a house. I want to have a place set where I know, 'OK, this is home.'" Beckham's $8.4 million fifth-year option is a big amount, but he understandably wants long-term security. Beckham has fed into a media circus for much of his Giants tenure, there's no way the G-Men can let a player of OBJ's talent walk in free agency.
Beckham saw just 41 targets in an injury-shortened 2017 season, earning 0.71 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target. Just one year ago, Beckham saw 169 targets and compiled a 0.66 Reception NEP per target.
