Jaelen Strong, Keith Mumphery ready for larger roles with Texans

Houston Texans rookie wide receivers Jaelen Strong and Keith Mumphery could be ready to step into larger roles on the team, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

What It Means:

Fellow receiver Cecil Shorts is dealing with a dislocated left shoulder while Nate Washington has missed practice this week with a hamstring strain, prompting the necessity for additional volume elsewhere.

Mumphery appears to have a leg up right now, having garnered 12 targets, 7 of which came in Week 4. He has also been heavily involved in the kickoff and punt return game. Strong, on the other hand, was active but did not play in Week 1. The big benefactor here may be DeAndre Hopkins, who was targeted 22 times in Week 4 and figures to see heavy volume for the foreseeable future.
