Seahawks' Earl Thomas could hold out for new contract
Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas suggested that he might be willing to hold out for a new contract this season.
At Thursday's Pro Bowl practice, Thomas said, "I definitely don't see myself going there not signed. As far as my future in Seattle, I think if they want me, you know, money talks." Thomas has said that he wants to spend the rest of his career with Seattle. But the two sides have yet to open extension talks with Thomas due for $8.5 million in the final year of current contract.
Over 14 starts, Thomas accounted for 56 tackles, 7 passes defensed, 2 interceptions, a forced fumble and a touchdown. He rated out as Pro Football Focus' 9th-best safety in 2017.
