Jacksonville Jaguars impending free agent wide receiver Allen Robinson could receive the franchise tag if the sides can't agree on a multi-year contract, predicts Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union.
Robinson is coming off a torn ACL he suffered in Week 1 but isn't expected to miss any offseason work. The Jaguars have an attractive collection of young wide receiver talent on the roster but A-Rob remains the best of the bunch. If they lit him the open market, the 24-year-old is guaranteed to receive a long-term deal from someone, so the franchise tag may wind up being Jacksonville's best bet.
In his two healthy seasons (2015-2016), Robinson hauled in a total of 153 catches (302 targets) for 2,283 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns for the Jaguars.
