Hodges was starting, but his value had decreased as the Vikings have a young, talented Eric Kendricks waiting for a full-time role on their defense. He'll likely slide into the starting lineup. The 49ers defense hasn't been as bad as expected, ranking 20th in the NFL in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play.
