The New York Giants have named for Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur as their new head coach
This one doesn't come as much of a surprise after it was revealed last week that Shurmur was the "top choice" for the coaching job in a battle that had been narrowed to Shurmur and Patriots' coordinator Josh McDaniels. He replaces Ben McAdoo, who led the Giants to a 2-10 start to the season before being fired.
Shurmur inherits a team that ranked only 25th in numberFire's nERD power rankings, with a 25th-ranked offense and 17th-ranked defense.
