Detroit Lions running back Ameer Abdullah rushed 13 times for 33 yards and caught 2-of-5 targets for 11 yards in the Lions' Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night.
Abdullah got the start in the Detroit backfield with Joique Bell (ankle) inactive. It couldn't have been a tougher matchup for a rookie's first NFL start. Abdullah managed a long gain of nine yards, as he was getting hit at or near the line of scrimmage on nearly every touch. Zach Zenner served as the No. 2 back in this one.
Abdullah finished the game with -1.77 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP). He came into Week 4 ranked 22nd in Rushing NEP Per Play at 0.18. Detroit hosts the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5.
