Jacksonville's Julius Thomas (hand) ruled out for Week 4
Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas (hand) has been ruled out for Week 4.
Thomas had surgery during the preseason, and he is still wearing a splint. Although he has participated in practice on a limited basis, he still has not been cleared for full-go yet.
This really isn't a great situation for Thomas as a whole. He will be joining a team that currently sits 24th in Adjusted Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play through the first three weeks of the season. Thomas led all tight ends with at least 40 targets last year in Reception NEP per target, though much of that was due to his nose for the end zone. If Thomas can't get red-zone opportunities on a stagnant offense, his fantasy value will be severely limited.
