Buccaneeers' T.J. Ward arrested for possession on Wednesday

According to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety T.J. Ward was arrested Wednesday morning on a felony count of possession of marijuana.

What It Means:

Ward has already been released on bond. The arrest stems from an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a previous, unreported charge for possession. He was arrested at his apartment. The original arrest was on October 25th, when police responded to an alarm at his residence. There were 99.9 grams of marijuana in glass jars, to which Ward admitted he "occasionally smoked."

After playing one year on a $4 million deal, Ward is set to hit unrestricted free agency at 31 years old. In 12 games, he finished with 30 tackles and 3 passes defensed this season.
