The Denver Broncos intend to start quarterback Paxton Lynch (ankle) in Week 17.
Lynch was likely to get the nod this week, but instead he'll back up Brock Osweiler, who is coming off an impressive game against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15. Still working back from a high-ankle sprain, Lynch will start next week's season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs if he's healthy enough.
Osweiler is the obvious choice over Lynch right now, having put together 0.02 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back this year, while the latter holds a rate of -0.68 in this metric. Lynch has only dropped back 18 times to Osweiler's 141, however, meaning there's still time for Lynch to make a positive impact.
