Eagles' Carson Wentz (knee) undergoes successful surgery on Wednesday
Per The Philadelphia Inquirer's Les Bowen, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz underwent surgery on his injured left ACL Wednesday in Pittsburgh.
Dr. James Bradley performed the surgery, which went "very well," according to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie. Wentz reportedly wanted to have the surgery done as quickly as possible in order to begin rehabbing for next season. More details are sure to come, with Wentz facing an estimated recovery time of 9-to-12 months. Nick Foles will be the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.
Through 2 seasons, Wentz has completed 61.5% of his passes for 7,078 yards, 49 touchdowns and 21 interceptions. He's also added 449 yards and a pair of scores on the ground in his 29 career starts to date.
